SLJ Thursday December 31 task 1

This is My art piece and I think that it looks amazing in a funny way. Her name is Shiela. I have done the strawberries as ears, the tomato as a nose, the watermelon as a mouth, cup cakes as the eyes, carrot peels as the hair,  and finally avocado as the face.

  1. Kia ora Hayley,

Fiona here from the SLJ team. It is lovely to meet you, Ms. Shiela! What delicious looking eyes you have... you look good enough to eat! Ka pai for being so creative with this task, just like the Italian artist Giuseppe Arcimboldo! I'm glad you had so much fun with this activity and I really like how you have used many different fruits and vegetables in your portrait.

Where did you get the inspiration for the name Shiela?

To add to your blog, it would be great if you add 3 facts you learnt about the artist Giuseppe Arcimboldo and how he inspired your portrait. You could even add some of his interesting art to your blog!

    Keep up the great blogging!

    Ngā mihi nui,

    Fiona (SLJ).

    1. Hi Fiona,
Thanks for commenting on my blog. I got the name Sheila just because its a funny name that I like. I like saying it in a weird voice as it makes it sound really funny. You should try saying it in a weird voice too. My Mum has said that name once when she was talking about someone and I liked it.
I enjoyed doing this task and it was funny trying different fruit for different parts of her face. Some of them looked weird and funny. I showed them to Mum as I was making it. She was laughing too.

      Hayley:)
