Today I built a dam. Mum helped me with some of it. This is on my driveway we have a little part were you can go down and there is a little creek.  I like to make dams because it makes the creek warm and deep for me.

I chose these lyrics because people don't try that much to do stuff.  If they tried harder things would go a lot easier for them.  I remind myself to try harder sometimes when I'm doing something hard or complicated.  I like listening to music and it helps me think when other people are talking.  I feel inspired to do things when I listen to music.

This is my rose butterfly. I used a red rose, red leaves, and 2 sticks. The rose is for the head. The red leaves  are the wings and the sticks are for the body and the legs. This is my made-up insect.  I thought it would be an interesting insect and I like the roses in our garden so that's why I used the rose for the head.

My rose butterfly is a cross between a butterfly and a stick insect.  It would be able to crawl 2m as well as flying.  My rose butterfly would be a nice insect and it wouldn't bite or sting.  It couldn't be a pet though because it dies if it is inside for too long.  It needs fresh air outside to live.

This is one that Mum used to make at her school so she showed me how to do it. Its really easy all you need to do is make two squares and then the lines and a dot. 

The Bush

 THE BUSH!!!

This story is about two people going into a bush. Their names are:  Noi and Milly. 

“Come on Milly”. “Why are we going this way again?”, “Because I saw on the internet that people have been in here before and some of them didn’t come out and everyone that had come out told the same story they were chased by BIGFOOT. “I want to know the truth,” Noi said. “That does not sound good,” Milly said worriedly. “I know it sounds so scary I am so excited,” said Noi. 

When they carried on Milly was feeling scared she wanted to go home where it was safe and there was not a Bigfoot or even just going into Noi’s friend’s house. Noi was not that scared, He was more happy then scared. Milly never wants to make Noi sad so she always found an easier way to. 

“Hey I need to…. Have a drink” said Milly. But that was a lie she felt bad about it but she had to lie because if she didn’t then she could have died any minute. “OK it says here that 50 steps away from here there is a river. So we can stop there” Noi said. Milly was even more scared now because she was risking herself even more. 

When they got to the river Milly had to pretend that she was drinking out of the river because she was lying. After she had a drink Noi was so happy he said, “come on let's go we have to get going. NOW or it will be night and we will not have shelter”.  “OK OK let’s go” Milly said sadly. 

So they went on and on and finally found a good spot to make shelter. “Ok let's get going for the day. You are going to set the fire and I will get the food then when we are all finished that we or you or me can start to make the shelter.” Noi said. After they got everything ready they both had a break. When they went to bed Milly couldn’t get to sleep. She was so worried then with a flick of an eye she saw something, IT WAS BIGFOOT….. 

“AHHHHHHH” Milly screamed. “Milly what is wrong?” Noi said worriedly. “Are you ok?”. “NOOOO… there is a BIGFOOT!!!” Milly yelled and yelled. “Calm down,” Noi said. “No I will not calm down there is a Bigfoot outside and I am scared I don’t know what to do” Milly panicked and panicked until…. Their mum came into the hut. “MUM” Noi and Milly yelled. “You guys are here” their mum said. “MUM MUM I-” Milly started. “What were you guys thinking? And Milly how could you! You are very responsible, how did this happen?” 

That will be another story to come.

Summer Learning Journey

 Today for the Summer Learning Journey I have to list 10 food items to bring on a boat trip. 

1. Water 

2. Non perishable foods

6. A bucket for the fish

9. Vegetables

10. ice cream to cool me down 

I picked water because you need to stay hydrated all the time. I picked Non perishable foods because then you can have that food for as long as you want to, I picked a fishing rod because you could get fish that way or maybe other stuff. Bread is some thing that is a nomal food so it would be a good idea to bring it. Fruit you have to have some fruit because it is very healthy. Bucket was just some thing that you would need to use for your food. A bag of chips was just an idea that I wanted to add in because who doesn't like a bag of chips. I picked pizza because I love pizza. Ice cream has the same answer as pizza.   

MY NEW BABY BUNNY'S

 A few days ago the bunny had more bunny's. They all have a lot of different colours; the colours are, black, white, white and grey, grey. The only colour that we didn't have was a ginger. I don't know how much we had but I know that we had more than five. The mum of the baby bunny's dug a big burrow and it took for ages to fill it up because the bunny's kept on going down the hole, but we finally filled it up. This has happened more than once believe me. 

The blueberry

The Blueberry 

One day there was a lady who loved blueberries, She loved them so much that her garden was full of  blueberries. She had always wanted more so to get more she planted more and more. It didn’t matter if it was not the season she would go on and on. She couldn’t even say a sentence without using the word blueberries. She also loves to bake. I am one of the people that live next door so we get a lot of blueberry pie, blueberry cookies, blueberry muffins, and blueberries. 

One day the mayor was putting up posters of a contest, it was a blueberry contest.

It said “Whoever brings the biggest blueberry to me gets a 10,000 dollars prize,

plus a free blueberries” for a whole month. The lady only cared about getting

blueberries for a whole month. When she saw the poster she went straight home

and looked all through her blueberries that were growing. It took her a whole day.

Then she discovered that her blueberries weren’t big ENOUGH!!! 

So the next day she went to the market and then she heard people yelling and

then a boy said “Ok we got 100 dollars, do we have 150 dollars” Then the lady

said “400 dollars” and the boy said “Sold 3 magic seeds of blueberries to that

lady”. “Yay” said the lady. So she ran home with her basket with 3 seeds in it.

When she got home she had a drink and then started to plant  

A day after.

The next day when the lady got up she couldn't believe her eyes. There were

three GIGANTIC BLUEBERRIES IN HER VERY OWN GARDEN. The

blueberries were so big that they took up ½ of her kitchen and a little bit of her

room. As she went into the kitchen she was still shocked. Thennnn she noticed

that there were more in the kitchen. “Oh no this is going to be a long day” she said.  

Shortly after 

Shortly after she had fixed up her kitchen then her day continued. So she got

herself ready to go to the contest and had a basket full of fruit, some goodies, a

bow that went on her head,  all she had to do now was get the blueberry to the

contest and that was a problem!!!!! She had no idea how to get it there but then

she remembered that her brother had a huge pickup truck. 

So she called him straight away and he said that he was a few blocks away from

her. She was pacing and pacing and then he said “Hey you know that you are not

supposed to be pacing you will get anxiety again” “N..A….N...NO TIME FOR

THAT LET'S GO” she yelled “gees lets go” he said. “Gees”. They went off to the

contest and the man asked “So what is this contest about?” “AHHHHH you have

to bring the biggest blueberry to the  field. WOW”.

A while later

“Haaah we are so going to win” the lady said. When they got there the mayor said

“WE….WOW...have a winner” “YA---” said the lady “BUT I have to have a taste

test first”. When the mayor touched his fork on the blueberry it…….POPPED!!!!!!!

How to help out turtles

 How to help our turtles!!

Turtles are dying in the world because of people. You know why? Well if people all work hard enough then we can do something about it. If you see someone throwing rubbish on the ground then do something about it, don't leave it to kill our turtles. Lots of the rubbish ends up in the sea and this is dangerous for the turtles. It's not just the turtles it’s all sea animals. So I ask everyone to put things in the bin, pick up rubbish and stand up to people that are throwing things on the ground.

In the weekend I went to a birthday party. The birthday party was for a 2 year old boy, his name is Conner. I think he had an amazing birthday. The cake had a photo of Peter Rabbit (he loves Peter Rabbit) it also had a made fence on the side of it. Me and Conner were eating all of the fence on the cake. He loved his presents. I was playing with him on the trampoline. He loves playing on it. There were balloons but some of them popped and we accidentally let go of them outside and they flew away. Some of the balloons had confetti in them and the people that were there before us popped them.  

After the party I went to Johanna’s house. I had to go home first to get my stuff. When we got back to Johanna’s house we were in Lotte and Johanna’s room. We got into our pjs and then brushed our teeth after that we went downstairs. Lotte, Johanna and I had similar pjs so Emma took a photo. When we went back up stairs we were doing stuff in the bed. I was in the same bed as Johanna. Johanna was showing me her drawings from her book. By the way she is an AMAZING drawer. We sat in bed for a while doing some stuff. Then we all went to bed. 

The next morning

The next morning we were in bed for a while before we got up; we got up at 7:00. We had to get dressed before we went down stairs and that took about 10 more minutes. After breakfast we went and played with Lego. We were playing with the Lego for so long. We were on our chrome books for a while. Then we played with the toys and had a lot of fun (we listened to some music while we were playing with the toys). When we had lunch we all had it together.

Cleaning my fish tank

 Yesterday I had to clean my fish tank because it was disgusting. It didn't take too long but that was probably because I've done it before. I think my fish love a clean tank a lot more than a dirty tank. I could bring the tank to the kitchen where I was cleaning it but I couldn't bring it back to my room because it had more water in it than before. I had to use 2 bowls; one bowl was for the rocks and other was for the fish. Cleaning the plants was a mission.

Today I made another Avatar. I made this girl on my own I didn't just look at someone I  thought it would look cool and I was right.  I don't know what to call it. 

My new mouse

 Yesterday I went to Noel Leemings. Mum surprised me by getting me a new mouse. So today I am using it. The mouse isn't to bad but it is a bit fast and some times it gets in my way but I guess i'm not used to it but that's ok. The colour is purple. 

Knitting

 For my knitting I changed the colour. The colour is a blueish greenish colour. The colours look very good together. It is a good hobby to do on rainy days.

Cultural Day

 Yesterday morning mum and I made some pikelets. The pikelets were for Cultural Day. For Cultural Day I dressed up as a country girl. Some of my friends dressed up as a farmer, and a Tongan girl. Here are Some of the activities that we did: we had a treasure hunt, we had to go fishing and find the winning fish (the fish were in a tray and they were paper fish), we had to throw balls into the can.

 The girl that wanted EVERYTHING

“I WANT MARSHMALLOWS!!!” Screeched Akaner while blowing Mr and Mrs Meek all the way to the kitchen. Mr and Mrs Meek sprinted to find the Marshmallows. “Here they are honey” said Mrs Meek breathing heavily, “IT’S ABOUT TIME!” yelled Akaner (oh yeah and Mr and Mrs Meek are very nice people so that's why she gets whatever she wants whenever she wants it and I mean WHATEVER SHE WANTS) 

One day she asked for a big pile of elephants poop and you wonder why? So she can throw it at any one at any time. The next day Akaner went to school, Mr and Mrs Meek had to carry her all the way even though it was just across the street. When I mean carried, I mean they literally lifted her up and took her to school. When they got to school Mrs Meek said “Goodbye lovely fairy” and she said back “yeah yeah, do you have my lunch with, two packets of lollies, coloured jelly, ice cream, and some chips?” “Yes, but I also put some nuts and an apple in just in case you want to eat it, ” Mrs Meek added. “This apple is too heavy for my lunch box,” complained Akaner. “Don’t worry sweetie you can stroll your bag instead” said Mr Meek. “ohha” groaned Akaner 

 

After school 

After school Mr and Mrs Meek carry Akaner home (and you know what I mean). When they carried home Akanar kept on demanding junk like TVs, a gigantic room, a whale as a pet, an endless pit for people that she doesn't like. I've only seen 2 people go in there. Believe me NEVER CROSS HER!!! This had been happening since she was 4. 4 is when she started to speak.  

Mr and Mrs Meek were starting to get sick and tired of doing what Akanar says “what should we do?” gulped Mrs Meek. “I think that...You should tell her that we are the boss of her, and she can't boss us around any more, ” said Mr Meek. “Oh fine you big baby” groaned Mrs Meek while crossing her arms. “Don’t worry I will be righhhhhhhhhht next to you” Mr Meek said with a smile. 

When they were coming back they were thinking should we get a lot of stuff for her so she will have everything in the world but a Ting. “Well we can’t do that we’ll have no more money left.” said Mrs Meek, “well then will just tell her” said Mr Meek.

When they got back home they were shivering with fear. Creak the door opened…. “Hi honey” said Mrs Meek trying to hide her fear. “MR AND MRS MEEK WHERE'S MY TING” yelled Akaner. Akaner never used Mr and Mrs Meeks last name; she always used mum or dad but this was different. Mr and Mrs Meek nodded at each other and stood up. “You will not be getting a ting” said Mr Meek, “and why is that?” said Akaner, “because you're not the boss of us and you're grounded for 2 months,” said Mrs Meek.

Knitting

I am in the knitting group at school. Mrs Joan is teaching us how to knit. Mrs Joan is the mother of our Principal Mrs Dodds. I am knitting a scarf.  The colours I am using are white  and purple.  I started doing white on Monday. There are about 12 people doing knitting and are we split into is 3 groups.  

    

My speech

 Hello, My name is Hayley and my speech is about bunnies and rabbits because they are my favourite animal. 

Rabbits and bunnies' eyes are on the side of their heads, and that is a good thing because they can see if there are other animals coming around them. There is only one blind spot on the bunnies and rabbits. It is in front of them. Rabbits teeth never stop growing! Rabbits' ears can be 10 centimetres long, and can turn 180 degrees. Some rabbits sleep with their eyes open! Loafing is a position that bunnies like to sit in. You can have 1 to 14 bunnies in a litter. Litter means how many bunnies they had. 

The fastest rabbit is an Arctic Hare. They can run 60km per hour. There are more than 30 species of bunnies. Here are some, Mini Rex, Holland Lop, Dutch Lop and so much more. Rabbits are a part of a species called Lagomorphs. The longest bunny species is a  Flemish giant. They weigh up to 6.8 kilograms. The biggest Flemish giant weighed 10 kilograms. The longest bunny in the world is 4 foot long. Rabbits can jump up to 90 centimetres high. 

You call the female rabbit a doe, the male rabbit is called a buck, and the baby bunny is called a kit or a kitten. Some rabbits live in groups. Rabbits can learn tricks. When rabbits and bunnies are happy they do twists and kicks in mid air. Bunnies and rabbits purr like cats when they are relaxed. Bunnies can start breeding at 5 to 6 months.

Here are some extra facts about rabbits and bunnies:

Rabbits eat grass, wildflowers, and vegetables. Rabbits can’t vomit. Rabbits don’t really make noises. Do you know the difference between a rabbit and a bunny? They are pretty much the same animal, but a rabbit is a small mammal, and a bunny is a small rabbit.  Bunnies can live up to 12 years old. The first rabbit born was in the 5th century.

I hope you enjoyed my speech about bunnies and rabbits. I didn’t know this much about bunnies and rabbits. I did get some information off the internet. Bunnies and rabbits are really cute and cuddly animals. Did you learn anything about bunnies and rabbits?

In Room 1 we have been doing a speech. This is what we had to do: First we had to think of the title, then we had to  write an introduction, after that we had to find facts about the topic, we also had to write a conclusion, next we had to edit it and make sure it made sense, finally we wrote it on cue cards. The speech could be about any topic we wanted. My speech is about bunnies and rabbits because they are my favourite animal.

We are in the hospital waiting to go and see Jeff. “Finally we are at the hospital,”

Said Lola. “Let's go and find Jeff,” Said Fred. “There he is!” Lola yelled. “He died,”

Said the doctor, “Why, Why did the Chicken cross the road?” Said Fred “Wait, that

is it” Fred said. 

The next day

“Hey where is Fred?” Said Lola. SPLAT!!!  “Why do they have to be so stupid” said

Lola. 

“Well at least I don’t need Fred and Jeff because they are so stupid”

Cup Cakes

Today I made cup cakes. They are vanilla and chocolate chip. I made them for PJ day. At school there was no Soy milk for me so I made them at home.  We are having some nice food for PJ day. I am wearing my Mickey mouse PJ's for it. We are going to have a lot of lollies. 

recipe

125g butter softened 

1 teaspoon vanilla essence 

1/2 cup caster sugar 

Mix

2 eggs mix 1 at a time 

1 cup pain flour 

2 teaspoons baking powder

1/4 cup milk 

Fantails breeds

Mum said that she saw a a fantail with no tail. 

Zippy

Zippy is my cat. We named him Zippy because he is very frisky. When I am writing this he is siting on me. He really likes to be patted on the head. The colour of Zippy is black brown and white. He has a long tail. Sometimes when he is frisky he try's to grab my fingers. You have to be careful because it hurts sometimes. 

Sponge cake

In the weekend I made a sponge cake. It was my first sponge cake that I have made. My sister Mikayla  said that it is really hard but I made it. Mikayla got in to it before I could get a good photo. 

Recipe

3 eggs

pinch of salt 

3/4 cup caster sugar

1 cup plain flour 

1 teaspoon baking powder

50 g butter, melted

Beat eggs and salt. Add sugar and beat until thick. Sift flour and baking powder. together. Fold in butter. Put it in a cake tin. Bake at 190c for 20 to 30 minutes.

Once upon a time I was making a cake for my granny because she was too old and too fat to make her own cake. I was sick with a cold. When I was making the cake I realised that I had no sugar because my neighbours took all of it. So I went down to my neighbours -house to trade back some sugar. 

He had made his house out of straw. When I got there I knocked on the door and I said “Stupid little pig, stupid little pig are you in?” and the pig said “ Go away you old bag of bones I’m shaving here.” I got a little mad but I was getting old and you can’t interrupt a man when he is shaving. Then I felt a sneeze coming on. I puffed and snuffed, Achoo. 

Then the little pig’s house fell down with the pig in it. He  went down like a door nail. The pig looked dead so I ate it with some salt. “Maybe I will put some pepper on it next time” I said to myself. 

So I went to his smarter brother's house. When I got there I said “ Smarter little pig, smarter little pig are you in?”  There was no answer.  So I started to walk away when  I felt a little sniffle coming on. I puffed and I snuffed and I blew that stick house down. That pig looked like it was in the same place as the other pig. So I ate it and put some pepper on it.

I went to the third little pigs house. He was the gifted one I guess, because he made his house out of bricks. I said “Little pig little pig are you in, you dummy? You know what that rude little idiot said?  “Go away you big fatty.” Now, I was going to go home and maybe make a nice card or something. But then I felt my cold coming a long, I puffed and I snuffed. Achoo. Then the pig said “You are as fat as your dumb granny.” Now, I am normally a pretty nice guy but when someone says something bad about my granny I lose it! “You are an idiot little pig.” I said 

But then I heard the sirens and I tried to run away. But then the Air Force came in. When I was at jail I got a newspaper and you know what those pigs did. They put me as the shady person to make the story more juicy. “When I see that pig again I will hurt him  like I have never hurt something before!” When I get out of here! 

Drenching

Today I did drenching with Mum. Drenching is when you put tags and drench on the cows. It takes a long time to do. I was not allowed to go out side because I didn't bring gumboots and I was home sick from school so I had to stay warm in the car.  My job was writing down the numbers of the tags to match the cow.

My fish

My fish are named Roxy and floppy.  I have to feed them every day once. They have 1 small castle, rainbow rocks, and some plants. I also have to clean the tank.

THE BOMB

THE BOMB

Crash, bang, boom, I fall to the ground. The next thing I know I am in a hospital with other
people that were with me. There were people with broken legs, arms and even a man that was
going into surgery. I looked down and I had a broken arm. A nurse said to me that I can leave
now if I am ready.
So I went out. 

I was still wondering what had happened when I left. A lady gave me a newspaper and before
I put it in my purse I saw that at the front of it was a bomb that had exploded yesterday. When
I read on, I saw the explosion that had happened. It was at Piccadilly, where I was having
lunch yesterday. I am at Abstone Hospital. I quickly got a taxi and told the driver to go to
Piccadilly asap. 

When I got there, there were news reporters, people taking photos and people asking a lot of
questions . Then the news reporter, George Washington came over to me and said that I was
one of the people that were by the bomb and that I am the first out of 10 people to be out of the
hospital. I wanted to leave and I couldn’t see through all of the flashing cameras but I managed
to get out of the crowd. 

When I got home I had a look on the news. They were only talking about the explosion. It said
that it was a big deal, “THAT IS IT! I AM SO SICK OF PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT THE
EXPLOSION” I marched down to the explosion area and stood on the biggest thing that I could find and said 

“IT IS JUST AN EXPLOSION.  IT IS SO STUPID TO HAVE THIS ON EVERY CHANNEL. I DON’T CARE IF IT WAS THE ONLY EXPLOSION  IN 5 YEARS, JUST GET OVER IT” 
Then everyone said
“ yeah, why is this a big deal?”
“Because it is the first bomb in years” said a man in the background.
Then he stepped forward.
“It is George Washington!” everyone yelled.
“Well well well look who we have here” I said.
“I think that this is a big deal” said George Washington.
“Why is it a big deal?” I said

“See he has no proof so I say that we take all of this off the news. Who’s with me?” I yelled

The Next Day

I looked at the news and there was nothing about the explosion. “Finally I can get back to watching my show”.
